Services provided by Drs Boardman, King, Earl & Boyd
  1. Child Health Surveillance
    Your baby's six week examination will be undertaken by one of the GPs in conjunction with the Health Visiting team. All your child's standard immunisations will be provided by the Health Visitors. You will be notified directly by the Health Board when your child is due a vaccine.
  2. Maternity services
    We will look after you, from pre-natal and conception counselling to antenatal care and postnatal follow up. In most cases, on discovering you are pregnant you can call the maternity self-booking service on 0141 232 4005, If you have a chronic medical condition or are taking prescription medication, you can speak to us about how this affects your pregnancy.
  3. Contraceptive Services
    Contraceptive services, including prescribing and administering of contraceptive injections and implants. Dr. Jenna Andrews is returning to run a regular clinic for contraceptive coils e.g. Mirena. Please discuss this with your usual GP if this would be of interest to you.
  4. Chronic Disease Management
    Annual comprehensive reviews are offered for patients with heart disease, stroke disease, asthma and COPD. Any problems with your treatment will be identified by the practice nurse and referred to a GP if necessary
  5. Travel Vaccinations
    We offer immunisation for adults in relation to travel. Not all travel immunisations are available on the NHS, please ask our Practice Nurse for details of which ones we can provide. Please see the 'Travel Vaccines' news item on the homepage for further details on how to get your vaccines in a timely manner. We also provide private prescriptions for antimalaria tablets.
  6. Diabetic Care
    Annual comprehensive reviews are offered for patients with diabetes; this includes appointments with the practice nurse, dietician and podiatrist. We will arrange your annual retinal screening either in the surgery or at hospital. Issues arising from your review will be passed on to a GP for consideration.
  7. Flu Vaccinations
    We run an annual flu immunisation programme to protect the elderly and at risk. Appointments are sent out and special clinics are put on, including several at weekends to ensure access for all
  8. Fit Notes ("Sick Line")
    You can self certify for the first week of your absence from work. Usually the hospital ward or clinic should provide a Fit Note for an appropriate period after you are seen there. If they do not, please telephone the practice and we can arrange this (there is no need to make an appointment). Please make an appoitnment to discuss a new Fit Note requirement in any other circumstances.
  9. Cryotherapy
    All GPs can provide cryotherapy treatment to appropriate skin lesions, at their discretion. Follow up freezing is offered by Treatment Room nurses.
  10. Joint Injections
    Dr. Earl can carry out joint inections, e.g. shoulder or knee injections which can be helpful for conditions such as osteoarthritis or frozen shoulder. Please make an appointment to discuss this with Dr. Earl in the first instance. Dr. Boardman can also carry out shoulder injections.
